My nieces and nephews are my second Sweet Lemonade. I was in the room when 4 of them came into this world and for the 5th, I traveled to another country, on a VERY small plane to meet him and for his Christening. My dream was to be a mother, but that was not to be. The ups and downs related to that struggle have definitely brought me closer to God and made me stronger. My sisters and I have lived in the same county for the past 42 years and I have had the same best friend for the past 37 years. For my nieces and nephews that lived in the county, I have gotten to do after school pick ups, taken them to ballet, music and karate lessons. I have been to more honor roll assemblies, recitals, soccer games, baseball games and tennis matches than I can count. It has been my absolute joy to be such an active part of their lives. For all 5 of them, when they were transitioning from one level of education to another we have had talks about lessons learned, goals and plans. When they went away to college and their voices didn't sound quite right to me, I was there to take them out to lunch and talk. They know that I am their cheerleader, listening ear and at times voice of reason. They make my heart and lips smile often and I Thank God for them. What is your Sweet Lemonade?
