When someone really loves you, you have power over them. Some honor that power and do everything to protect their loved one's heart. Some consciously or unconsciously use that love to manipulate others. Before you declare it, make sure you understand what it really means. Us declaring it to each other means that I have given you power over me, and you have given me power over you. I trust that you will care for my heart. This power does not only pertain to romantic love, but also to the parent/child relationships, sibling relationships, any relationships where love can exist. Make sure that the advice you give someone benefits them and is not you manipulating them and benefitting you. Be sure that you understand and honor that power in all of your relationships. If that power is not understood and honored, trust is broken. Once broken, it never goes back to the way it was. Something shattered can always be glued back together but the integrity will not be as smooth as it was originally and if the "right" environment presents itself, it can easily fall apart. Pure love can be the most beautiful gift that you give someone.
